Maya, born in up-state New York and raised in Switzerland has been living in Brazil since 1985.
Her studies include degrees in Sociology ( University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) Fine Arts ( Panamericana , São Paulo) Musictherapy ( FMU, Sao Paulo) and is currently studying Psychology.
These academic travels have provided a broad source of vocabulary in the Humanities.
Since arriving in Brazil her work has been in the production of hand-made articles( knit and crochet) affording an opportunity to learn about the commercial and productive aspects of running a business and its challenges in Sao Paulo.
Maya gives Intermediate to Advanced Conversation classes and can attend groups with up to 4 participants. She lives in Jardins and can teach at her place.
